Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 23 October 2026Operator: Roam ClubContact: support@roamapp.club
1. About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Roam’s website, applications, and related services, collectively the “Platform,” operated by Roam Club, referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our.”
By creating an account or affirmatively accepting these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or contribute content.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
2. Eligibility and account security
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or contribute to the Platform.
You must provide accurate account information, protect access to your account, and promptly notify support@roamapp.club if you suspect unauthorised access.
Google sign-in authenticates your account. It does not verify your visits, experiences, identity documents, or ownership of uploaded content.
You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. You must not impersonate another person or create accounts to manipulate recommendations.
3. The Platform
Roam allows users to record travel memories, upload photos and videos, list places, publish experiences, recommend or not recommend places, maintain visited maps, create trips, save wishlists, and share selected content.
User contributions reflect individual experiences and opinions. Place information, maps, recommendations, availability, opening hours, and other information may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
Independently check important travel information, including safety, entry requirements, accessibility, and availability.
Unless expressly stated, Roam does not arrange, sell, or guarantee travel services.
4. Your content and ownership
“Your Content” includes photographs, videos, audio, notes, captions, experiences, recommendations, place submissions, and other material you submit.
You retain ownership of Your Content and any intellectual-property rights you hold in it.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and permissions required to upload, store, publish, and share Your Content for the audience you select.
5. Media rights and permissions
Whenever you upload content, you represent and warrant that:
a. You own it or have a valid licence or permission covering the intended use and the licence granted to Roam.
b. You have obtained permissions required by applicable law from identifiable people appearing in it, including appropriate parental or guardian permission where required for minors.
c. It does not infringe copyright, music rights, trademarks, privacy, publicity rights, confidentiality, or other third-party rights.
d. It does not unlawfully disclose personal information, sensitive information, private locations, or confidential material.
e. You have authority to grant the permissions described in these Terms.
Being shown in a photograph, possessing a copy, crediting the creator, or finding content online does not by itself establish permission to upload it.
For video and audio, you must also have the necessary rights to music, recordings, footage, and other incorporated material.
We may request reasonable evidence of rights or permissions and restrict access while a complaint is investigated.
6. Limited licence to Roam
You grant Roam Club a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, back up, transmit, technically process, resize, compress, transcode, and display Your Content only as reasonably necessary to:
a. Provide the features you use.
b. Make content available to the audience you select.
c. Generate previews, thumbnails, and search results within Roam.
d. Secure the Platform, investigate misuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal requirements.
We may sublicense these rights only to service providers acting on our behalf for those purposes.
For private content, this licence does not authorise public display.
For content you publish publicly, the licence includes displaying it on public Roam pages and through the Platform’s sharing features.
The licence continues while content is stored or made available at your direction. After deletion, it continues only as reasonably necessary for restricted backups, legal preservation, security, or dispute resolution, subject to applicable law and our retention practices.
This licence does not transfer ownership to Roam. It does not authorise the sale of your media, unrelated external advertising, or general-purpose AI-model training.
7. Promotional use
External promotional use of Your Content, including paid advertisements, marketing campaigns, and promotional social posts, requires separate permission specifying the intended use.
Declining promotional permission does not prevent you from using the core Platform.
8. Visibility and sharing
Roam distinguishes between private records, public contributions, and content shared by link.
Review the audience before publishing or sharing.
Public content may be viewed, indexed, copied, or reshared by others. Anyone who obtains a sharing link may be able to access the selected content until the link is revoked.
Deletion or revocation cannot retrieve copies already downloaded or captured independently by others.
You may share public links through Platform features. Access to another person’s content does not grant a general right to republish, commercially exploit, or claim ownership of it.
9. Authenticity and recommendations
Published experiences and recommendations must reflect your genuine experience of the relevant place.
You must not fabricate visits, manipulate recommendations, use fake accounts, or publish undisclosed paid or incentivised endorsements.
Clearly disclose relevant sponsorships, benefits, business relationships, and material alterations.
Do not present synthetic or materially altered media as an authentic record of a visit. Label such content where relevant and as required by law.
We may exclude suspicious, removed, or ineligible contributions from recommendation summaries.
A Recommend or Not Recommend verdict is a user opinion, not a guarantee by Roam.
10. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use the Platform to upload or distribute unlawful, infringing, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, exploitative, sexually abusive, or otherwise prohibited content.
You must not publish non-consensual intimate imagery, child sexual abuse material, doxxing, impersonation, or content that unlawfully invades privacy.
You must not interfere with security, access another account without authority, distribute malware, evade restrictions, or collect personal information through unauthorised scraping.
You must not upload private records or media belonging to another person without appropriate authority.
11. Reports and moderation
Report concerns using the reporting feature or email support@roamapp.club.
For rights or privacy complaints, provide:
a. The affected content and its URL, if available.
b. The right or concern involved.
c. Your relationship to the affected person or rights holder.
d. Supporting information reasonably necessary to investigate.
e. Your contact details and a good-faith statement that your report is accurate.
Do not submit unnecessary sensitive identity documents with an initial report.
We may investigate, request further information, restrict or remove content, preserve evidence, restore content, or suspend accounts as permitted or required by law.
Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain relevant decisions and provide a way to request review.
We will handle complaints within applicable statutory timelines, including expedited requirements where relevant.
12. Account restrictions and deletion
You may stop using Roam or request account deletion through available account settings or support@roamapp.club.
We may restrict or terminate access for material breaches, security threats, unlawful conduct, or legal requirements. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.
Deletion and retention are subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Deleting a public experience does not automatically delete a separate private travel log. Review the deletion controls presented for each action.
13. Third-party services
Authentication, maps, external links, and other third-party services may have separate terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services beyond responsibilities imposed on us by applicable law.
14. Platform intellectual property
Except for user content and third-party materials, Roam’s branding, software, designs, and original Platform materials belong to Roam Club or its licensors.
You may use them only as necessary to use the Platform or with permission.
15. Availability and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, absolute security, or the accuracy of user-generated content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, Roam Club is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Platform to the extent such exclusion is lawful.
16. Third-party claims arising from your conduct
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse Roam Club for reasonable, documented losses and costs arising from a third-party claim directly caused by your infringement of their rights, unlawful content, or intentional material breach of these Terms.
This does not apply to losses caused by our own breach, negligence, or misconduct.
We will notify you of relevant claims and allow reasonable participation in their defence. You will not be required to accept a settlement imposing obligations on you without your consent.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms and will publish a revised effective date.
We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and obtain renewed acceptance where required.
Changes will not retrospectively expand permissions over previously uploaded content without a valid basis.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Indian law, subject to mandatory laws and consumer rights applicable to you.
Disputes may be brought before courts or forums having jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms restricts a non-waivable right to approach a competent court, consumer forum, or regulator.
